Wage Range: $150.00 - $160.00 per hour
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
Job Summary
The Medical Director sets the vision and has administrative responsibility for the designated department or program.
Primary Duties:
- Establishes effective working relationships with EvergreenHealth’s Medical Staff, administration, and other departments and service groups at EvergreenHealth.
- Oversees, in partnership with the manager, the department’s compliance with generally accepted medical standards, the standards of JC, licensure standards of the state, and standards of other agencies as applicable and in collaboration with the department of medicine and medical staff office as appropriate.
- Participates in audit activities, including utilization review and quality assurance programs as required by governmental agencies and the Medical Staff bylaws.
- Collaborates with administration and the Medical Staff in the development, approval and implementation of all policies and procedures for the department including operations, safety, infection control and internal and external disaster preparedness.
- Responsible for supervision, hiring, training and scheduling of department Providers to ensure the availability of properly trained staff to provide necessary coverage for the department.
- Ensures that the department staff’s physician services are consistent with the department’s needs.
- Serves as liaison between Medical Staff members, administration and the community on issues involving provision of the services.
- Works with administration to ensure smooth, efficient operations of the overall department.
- Chairs committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
- Currently licensed as a physician in the State of Washington
- Active member of the medical staff
- Graduate of an approved school of medicine
- Board eligibility/certification in specialty area
- Must have knowledge of Federal, State, and JC regulations and requirements regarding patient care
- Special competence and ongoing experience in area of specialty
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS – American Heart Association by start date
