The Opportunity 

Greenwich House Music School is seeking a part-time Piano Faculty member to teach piano lessons (beginner to advanced) for children and adults of all ages, approximately 4-6 hours per day, on certain days of the week, depending on scheduling. This position is a long-term faculty sub for the 2025-26 school year on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which may turn into a permanent position. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Instruction and management of piano private lessons for all of your studio
  • Set goals for student and communicate them to student and/or parent
  • Attendance and participation for various staff meetings and/or professional development opportunities
  • Exude a positive attitude and be open to ideas of innovation and collaboration
  • Keep Director informed of progress and problems
  • Attend student recitals as needed

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Music in Piano Performance
  • Must have three or more years’ experience teaching young children 
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate directly and sensitively with parents 
  • Professional integrity and a strong sense of moral and ethical standard

 

Employment Details

Location: 46 Barrow St, New York, NY 10014 (possible hybrid when needed)

Schedule: 4-6 hours per day, Tuesday/Wednesday afternoons

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Employment Type: Part-Time

Reports To: Music School Registrar

Union Representation: Non-Union

 

Salary Range 

The expected hourly rate for this position is $50.00. This rate reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of this posting and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and organizational needs.
