Management Level:

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting in controlling expenses, ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements, and interpreting and enforcing company policies. The role involves maintaining a non-union program, determining manpower needs, and making recommendations. You will prepare and maintain records and reports to accurately reflect conditions, solve problems effectively with sound follow-up, and collaborate with department heads to meet production quality yield goals and metrics while maintaining labor standards and performance quality.

Key responsibilities include:

• Inspecting and maintaining high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety.
• Managing, evaluating, and training production supervisors.
• Overseeing all designated shift operations and any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a meat processing facility, preferably poultry.
• Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HAACP regulations.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in standard computer applications.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members, from hourly staff to upper management, as well as government officials.

Special Skills:

• Leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee team members in the plant.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Interview, hire, and train team members.
• Plan, assign, and direct work.
• Monitor and appraise work performance.
• Reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members.
• Address complaints and resolve problems.

Travel:

• 0-20%

Other Requirements:

• Lead by example, accept and delegate responsibility, and display sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Efficiently solve problems with sound follow-up.
• Strong managerial skills.
• Excellent safety and attendance records.
• Ability to work with department heads to meet safety, production, and quality yield goals.

Work Schedule:

• Friday with frequent weekend work scheduled.
• Hours may vary depending on staffing, 3 pm-1 am.
