As an Advanced Mechanical Technician you are responsible for operating and supporting the daily operations to do what is needed to keep the equipment maintained and operational. You will be the maintenance owner of equipment. Performing checks to maintain quality standards. Must be able to prioritize workflow. Demonstrates technical mastery at the highest level. Responsible for Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Cost associated with equipment. Must be capable of demonstrating computer skills. Maintain equipment ownership driving out losses. Technical understanding and deals with uncertainty, attention to detail, flexibility, supervision.

Responsibilities

As an Advanced Mechanical Technician, some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include:      

  • Able to perform preventative maintenance to equipment and repairs and adjustments as required.

  • Performs activities related to production and operations.

  • Visually inspects product during production to ensure product meets quality specifications.

  • Operates all standard equipment and machinery.

  • Works to troubleshoot problems.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment, as required, in accordance with documented procedures.

  • Ability to understand all processes (sequence of operation) and be the technical resource for the area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to 1) Assisting with product changeovers, 2) Troubleshooting, 3) Coaching/training new hires, 4) Machine rebuilds.

  • Ensuring product conforms to specifications. Follows established procedures for disposition of nonconforming product. Ability to perform procedures and operating steps as outlines in Quality Assurance Procedures.

  • Follows the DWS autonomous & preventative maintenance procedures to ensure proper equipment function and continuity.

  • Understanding this position requires use and understanding of technical manuals, job procedures, and machine drawings.

  • Use of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment to receive, store and transport equipment and product.

Qualifications

Please consider applying if you have:

  • Two to five years of manufacturing experience

  • The analytical ability to apply concepts learned in training programs, on the job training concepts, and ability to read non-complex blueprints to determine the source of, and affect repairs on, mechanical problems. 

  • It is a bonus to have experience with SAP process to enter and track malfunction notifications and spare parts procurement. 

  • Possess the manual ability to handle product and components up to 90% of the shift for the purpose of performing quality inspections.

  • Ability to read and write as well as have a basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

  • Possess the analytical ability to understand safety hazards

  • Must be able to tolerate heights, limited exposure to certain chemicals (Silicone, cleaning solutions, lubrication, etc.) 

  • Must possess the physical stamina to walk, stand, stoop or bend up to 100% of shift
