Job Title: Pharmacy Staff Intern

Job Summary:
 The Pharmacy Staff Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including prescription processing, patient counseling, clinical drug monitoring, and inventory management. All activities are performed under the supervision of a New York State registered pharmacist to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with prescription processing, billing, and dispensing.
  • Provide patient counseling and education under pharmacist supervision.
  • Support clinical drug monitoring and customer service initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for pharmaceutical purchases and dispensing.
  • Ensure proper storage, packaging, and security of medications.
  • Participate in inventory management and remove outdated products.
  • Assist with pharmacy marketing and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform insurance verification and claims processing.
  • Package prescriptions for shipping and coordinate timely delivery.
  • Support clinical pharmacy projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited school of pharmacy in good standing.
  • Completion of at least one year of pharmacy school (P2 level or higher).
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Intern with the State of New York.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
