Senior Specialist, Occupational Medicine

Department: Billing/Revenue Cycle JAX - 5500 Location: Jacksonville

Position Summary

The Senior Specialist, Occupational Medicine is responsible for solving problems in a timely manner; gathering and analyzing information skillfully; and developing solutions; accountable for creation and execution of invoices, updates related to Nextgen fee schedules, management of occupational medicine special accounts and client interactions related to outstanding invoices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Models behavior related to CareSpot values (Compassion, Authenticity, Respect, Empowerment).

  • Manages monthly pre-invoice charge review process.

  • Establishes and maintains a working relationship with, and serves as a company liaison, to the external vendor for occupational medicine.

  • Responds to requests for information in a timely manner.

  • Manages difficult customer situations.

  • Responds promptly to customer needs and solicits feedback for improvement.

  • Responds to requests for service and assistance and meet commitments in a timely manner.

  • Creates and sends invoices to occupational medicine clients.

  • Executes fee schedule updates in Nextgen.

  • Provides customer service and administration to occupational medicine special accounts.

  • Executes collection activities for outstanding invoices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Acts with honesty and integrity in all business transactions, including, but not limited to, employment applications/resumes, patient records, time records, and financial transactions.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Billing and Coding certificate or 1 year of billing experience within a healthcare facility or insurance company

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Customer Service

  • Experience with occupational medicine billing is preferred

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a team or solo environment

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment

  • Proficient with practice management software and overall knowledge of MS Office

  • Process Oriented
