TITLE: Senior Midnight Desk Attendant

DEPARTMENT: Campus Safety

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Permanent – Full Time

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Campus Safety Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure the safety and security of Wagner College residential students by monitoring all students and guests entering the residence halls and providing excellent customer service to all members of the campus community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the residence hall receptionist during overnight hours.
  • Answer telephone calls, make notifications, and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Physically check the identification of all individuals entering the residence halls.
  • Notify Campus Safety of any incidents, concerns, or safety issues.
  • Maintain accurate logs of interactions and unusual occurrences.
  • Ensure the lobby and desk area remain clean, organized, and professional.
  • Remain alert and vigilant throughout the shift.
  • Provide courteous and helpful customer service to students, guests, and visitors.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Campus Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

                Work Experience

  • Prior experience in a security, receptionist, or customer service environment preferred.

                Education:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

                Communication/Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Professional demeanor and reliability.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations.
  • Other Requirements: Must be willing and able to work overnight shifts (7 hours per shift).

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

This position requires overnight availability and the ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
