DeCoach Recovery Centre, a local leader in Addiction Recovery, is now hiring a driver / transportation specialist to join our team of professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting our clients to our facilities throughout the Cincinnati and Dayton areas. This position will be based out of our Sharonville location, and the hours are Monday - Friday from 3pm - 10pm, with the option to pick up additional shifts on the weekends.

Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and comfortably between various departments, treatment areas, and external locations as required.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to schedule and prioritize transportation requests.
- Maintain and inspect transportation equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers, and carts to ensure they are clean, functional, and safe.
- Adhere strictly to hospital safety protocols and infection control standards during all transportation activities.
- Document transportation activities accurately and report any incidents or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record if driving is required.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare transportation or patient transport role.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital operations.
- Certification in CPR and basic first aid.
- Familiarity with electronic scheduling and communication systems.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
Skills:
The required skills such as effective communication and adherence to safety protocols are used daily to ensure patient comfort and safety during transport. Physical stamina and attention to detail are critical for managing equipment and assisting patients with varying mobility needs. Preferred skills like CPR certification and familiarity with hospital operations enhance the ability to respond to emergencies and coordinate efficiently with clinical teams.
