Job Description:

Overview

The Finance Business Analyst plays a key role in integrating newly acquired or merged subsidiaries into the company’s financial and accounting systems. Serving as a bridge between finance stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams, this role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout each stage of financial system onboarding and integration. The Finance Business Analyst reports to the Finance Integration Lead and partners closely with accounting, IT, and project management teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from accounting and finance stakeholders.

  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications for system developers.

  • Support ERP and financial system configuration, with a focus on accounting processes including Projects, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets.

  • Lead data mapping and harmonization efforts from legacy systems to new platforms.

  • Develop and execute test cases for financial processes; coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assist in training finance teams on new systems and processes.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements within financial systems and workflows.

  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and project management to deliver accurate and timely integration milestones.

  • Travel up to 25%, including overnight stays, to support integration activities and subsidiary onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business analysis.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and reconciliations.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP or financial systems (Deltek Vantagepoint strongly preferred).

  • Proven experience in business process mapping and functional documentation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively translate business needs into technical requirements and coordinate across teams.

  • Familiarity with internal controls and compliance frameworks preferred.
