Community Consolidated District 89 Additional Information: Show/Hide - Lead Curriculum Development and Implementation: Facilitate curriculum review processes and ensure alignment to state standards. Coordinate and approve summer curriculum hours and payments for certified staff. Ensure yearly scope and sequence updates are completed and accessible.
- Manage Curriculum Resources: Review vendor quotes and manage print and online curriculum resources, applications, and licenses. Oversee the purchasing and renewal of instructional software and oversee rostering through systems like Clever.
- Oversee Summer School: Supervise the summer school principal, manage registration, curriculum, data tracking, and prepare the associated budget.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Other responsibilities may be assigned to ensure smooth and efficient district operations.
- Coordinate District Assessments: Manage and oversee all district-wide assessments, including MAP Growth, IAR, ISA, ACCESS, PSAT 8/9, and CogAT. Ensure proper rostering and testing windows are set.
- Analyze and Report Data: Serve as the Frontline Student Analytics liaison, coordinating data sharing and training principals to utilize the platform. Assist with compiling data for yearly data retreats and present academic progress to the Board of Education.
- Manage Student Records: Supervise district data specialist and provide oversight of PowerSchool. Oversee report cards and grade reporting
- Lead Professional Development: Coordinate and facilitate district-wide PD based on current initiatives and the strategic plan. Manage PD committee meetings and track CPDUs for compliance for ISBE and the DuPage Regional Office of Education.
- Oversee New Staff Support: Organize and facilitate the yearly new teacher/specialist orientation and academy. Manage the two-year mentoring cycle, including assigning mentors and processing payroll for mentors.
- Manage Grants: Oversee and complete federal and state grants (Title I, II, III, IV, Bilingual Education Award Grant) and complete required reporting in IWAS. Ensure the yearly schoolwide Title I waivers and Consolidated District Plan are completed and submitted each year.
- Oversee Department Budget: Prepare the proposed budget for Teaching and Learning and manage all related expenditures, ensuring timely creation of purchase orders.
- Supervise Staff Evaluations: Oversee the Evaluwise evaluation system, ensuring it is set up correctly and staff are placed on the appropriate evaluation cycle. Utilize data reports to inform instructional conversations. Work with HR to ensure tenure and accelerated tenure are accurately tracked and documented.
- Manage Salary Advancement Process: Manage salary advancement requests and approve courses and review official transcripts prior to board approval.
- Lead EL/Bilingual Program: Supervise the EL/Bilingual Coordinator, co-facilitating team meetings, managing the budget, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements.
- Supervise Departmental Directors: Oversee the Technology Director and the Instructional Coaches, meeting regularly to discuss goals and provide support.
- Oversee Special Programs: Manage the Gifted and Talented Program, including data review and program evaluation. Act as the liaison for external partnerships like the GECRC.
- Coordinate with Other Staff: Meet with LMC staff to discuss book challenges and other needs. Oversee early entrance to Kindergarten and grade acceleration processes.
- 5 years successful experience in classroom teaching
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a General Administrative or Superintendent endorsement.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a district-level or building-level administrative leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional best practices, and assessment analysis.
- Demonstrated excellence as an educational leader with strong organizational, problem-solving and human relations skills.
- Proven ability to manage grants, budgets, and district-wide initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, state or federal grants and student performance test data.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, students, parents, members of the Board of Education, professional colleagues and other school-community members.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form. Ability to write reports as needed. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to complete mathematical operations and apply concepts of algebra, geometry and statistics. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Ability to use generic and proprietary computer software including MS Word, Excel, Access, e-mail, and various state and federal accounting systems such as IWAS, OTIS or CeRTS.
- Ability to perform essential duties within school district requirements and Board of Education policies.

The Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
Administrative Staff work a 12-month calendar with 20 vacation days, 12 sick days and 4 personal days of paid time off. All full-time staff have the privilege of partaking in our health and dental insurance programs (Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance), these include 90% Board paid health insurance for the employee, 80% Board paid for families (both HMO and PPO options), and 100% Board paid dental insurance for the individual staff member.
