Job Summary: The Warehouse Carpenter (Showroom display and Shipping Crate Builder) is responsible for the construction of shipping crates for tile and stone samples and products. This person must be able to work alone and meet deadlines for making showroom displays and shipping crates.
Essential Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Making showroom displays and shipping crates from scratch based on dimensions sent over by sales and product teams. Dimensions sent will only have inside dimensions and final cut list will have to be created based on the inside dimensions
- Must have experience creating and using templates to create multiple examples of a product
- Must be able to read, measure, and cut specific dimensions for custom builds.
- Must have a good understanding of strength and stability when creating products that will be used in nation-wide shipping and showroom displays that may be in direct customer/public contact
- Must be able to create cut list based on overall final dimensions of the final product
- Must be proficient in the safe operation of power tools such as circular saws, table saws, drills, hammers, nail guns, etc. in the creating of these products.
- Must be able to operate the sit-down forklift & pallet jack to move product throughout the facility
- Must be able to do basic trouble shooting and maintenance on the tools used on a daily basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly and effectively when communicating with other departments
- Must have previous construction / carpentry or shipping crate construction experience
- Must be able to operate the sit-down forklift & pallet jack
- Must be able to read, measure, and cut specific dimensions for custom builds
- Must be able to create cut list based on overall final dimensions of the final product
