Sr. Roving Building Engineer

Schedule: Part-Time/Temporary; Monday – Friday, weekends as needed.
We seek a Chief Roving Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations across multiple bank branch locations in the Bay Area/Sacramento. This high-level role ensures all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance systems are performing optimally. The Senior Roving Engineer serves as the primary technical expert and is the first point of contact for client escalations, facility management, and compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Perform and oversee HVAC systems diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance, ensuring full compliance with EPA and industry standards.
· Conduct electrical and plumbing troubleshooting repairs.
· Manage life safety systems, including fire panels, emergency lighting, and exit signage.
· Complete and submit monthly MCIM reports for each assigned location, ensuring data accuracy and timely submissions to the client.
· Oversee and coordinate subcontractors for specialized work (i.e. fire life safety, pest control, janitorial, roofing, etc.)
· Lead capital improvement projects and minor construction initiatives as assigned.
· Provide on-site inspections and quality checks at each branch to ensure all maintenance standards are met.
· Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
· Act as the client liaison for day-to-day issues, ensuring high client satisfaction and service excellence.
· Track inventory and supplies for each for each location.
· Maintain and upgrade commercial property as instructed via work orders.
· Repair, replace, and install all minor property equipment and hardware as directed.
· Conduct preventive maintenance functions by government regulations and company policies.
· Property and office updates, including painting, carpet cleaning, moving furniture, and room repairs.
· Basic plumbing and electrical.
· Perform drywall, window, and roofing repairs.
· Inspects and troubleshoots problems.
· Perform monthly maintenance inspections.

· Complete other job-related projects and assignments as they arise.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- 7+ years of HVAC and commercial building maintenance experience required
- HVAC Certification is required
- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
- Valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Experience using MCIM or a similar management platform
- Service-oriented
- Comprehensive understanding of Cal-OSHA requirements and safe work practices
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Motivation to do a good job when working alone
- Attention to detail and use of reasonable judgment
- A polished, professional, put-together demeanor
- Ability to use technological devices and computers (i.e., smartphone, tablet, and computer)
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to service various locations in the Sacramento area as needed

Physical Demands and Requirements:
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, and physical. Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand for long periods of time. Bend or twist body. Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Physically able to work on HVAC units. Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, walking, or climbing ladders.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
