Delta Community Supports, Inc. (“Delta”) is seeking a Behavioral Support Specialist to provide support for our Pennsylvania based individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Behavioral Support Specialist will work collaboratively with the support team, design individualized behavior intervention and support plans, using functional behavior assessment tools, and designing and using appropriate methods of data collection.
Position Summary:

Conduct behavioral assessments upon the request of the support team member or another appropriate referral source.

Actively participate in treatment team meetings, ensuring a person-centered approach to the individual’s care.

Conduct and document staff training related to the implementation of the behavioral managementplans including: techniques, required documentation, behavior guidelines, de-escalation techniques,etc.

Document individual’s progress and assess interventions and innovative support methods.
-
Review and revise behavior support plans as indicated by the individual's progress and needs.
-
Support and encourage individuals to increase their ability to problem solve and be as independent aspossible.

Provide crisis management services as necessary.

Maximize the development and capacity of staff to advance the mission and values of Delta.
-
Ensure the full capacity of programmatic resources.
-
Demonstrate ethical and professional conduct at all times ensuring employees conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner.

Promote continuous quality improvement projects and ongoing performance measures within the department and the organization.

Participate in pre-admissions assessment to ensure appropriate placements.

Perform other duties assigned.

Basic understanding of providing Behavior Support Services in licensed residential settings and as a discrete service, along with billing guidelines and supporting documentation.

Ability to read, write and speak English; perform arithmetical calculations

Ability to use excellent oral and written communications skills.

Position Qualifications:
-
Qualified candidates should possess at minimum, one of the following credentials related to behavioral supports:
o Bachelor’s Degree and work under the supervision of a professional who has a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or Gerontology, or who is a licensed Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Social Worker (master’s level or higher) or who has a Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist License.
o A Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or Gerontology.

Valid license, with a clean record, of at least three (3) years in state of residence.
