This is a 12-month, 8-hour-a-day full-time position, Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm., with an occasional weekend rotation. Paid time off (after 60-day probation) and holiday pay. Salary is determined by experience and current salary schedule.
Purpose Statement The job of Custodian is done for the purpose of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure.
Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the Organization’s services.
Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 0% sitting, 75% walking, and 25% standing. The job is performed under some hazardous conditions. Work may be in any and all weather/temperatures and lighting conditions that require a job to be performed. May be required to wear protective equipment for exposure control under limited circumstances.
Education High School diploma or GED preferred
Qualifications Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions
Must be a licensed driver (unless approved by the Department Head to be a non-driver on the custodial staff)
