What You Can Expect
The primary responsibilities of the Global Category Manager are to manage end-to-end procurement activities for Packaging category and lead cross-functional supplier qualifications for their assigned category. They will be responsible for securing total cost of ownership reductions for Packaging category, define global strategy, and work with other counterparts globally to execute the regional strategies.
How You'll Create Impact
- Develop and execute global category strategies for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials.
- Strategic interface with suppliers and accountable for building strong and strategic supplier relationships.
- Analyze global market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors to proactively manage category performance.
- Cost structure analysis to deliver innovation, sustainability, and total cost improvement.
- Drive design for excellence intiatives by conducting teardowns to identify value opportunities.
- Conduct product tear downs and cost breakdowns to identify design, material, and process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to validate cost models and benchmark supplier pricing.
- Lead value engineering workshops and cross-functional cost reduction intiatives across packaging categories.
- Partner with R&D and Product Development teams to embed DfX and DfM principles early in the design process.
- Lead complex contract negotiations including multi-year supply agreements, cost models, and performance-based incentives
- Develop supplier scorecards and conduct regular performance reviews focused on cost, quality, service, and innovation

Your Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Packaging Science or related field
- At least 7+ years of experience in packaging procurement, category management, or packaging engineering
- Strong understanding of packaging design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success leading product teardowns and DfX intiatives
- Experience in a regulated environment preferred
Travel Expectations
- Must possess the ability to travel on a regular basis with overnight stays up to 25%. Occasional regional travel and global travel may be required.
Expected Compensation Range
$113,407 - $142,000
