What You’ll Do:
The primary function of this position is to lead and coordinate all ready-mix dispatch activities for the Northern MN Region. Also provide excellent customer service by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company products and programs, as well as fellow team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Dispatch orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate with operations on the number of trucks needed and the scheduling of mixer drivers, production personnel and material truck drivers.
- Assist in the daily management of concrete mixer drivers, dispatch, order takers, and plant operations personnel.
- Coordinate with the Materials Manager on timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials.
- Solicit future orders from customers and negotiate on acceptable delivery time so that orders are not lost.
- Document all customer complaints and/or driver concerns and work to resolve with management and sales.
- Drive a safety culture by participating in safety meetings and support company Safety Programs through coordination with the North Regional Manager, Safety Director, and other management personnel to ensure zero lost time accidents.
- Provide leadership for all personnel and instill team approach that is efficient and economical to the company.
- Assist in the development of employees through coaching, training, and mentoring, particularly in the area of order taking.
- Drive increased profitability through better efficiencies in both truck and material management.
- Develop mechanisms that allow for sharing of best practices and promote their use.
- Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned by the North Region Dispatch Manager
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a positive and helpful manner with customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Ability to provide leadership to all employees in a professional manner.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to speak, write, and read English and be computer literate.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to read and understand maps.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
