The Senior Electrical Engineer – Engineering & Automation will provide technical leadership and expertise on a wide variety of projects, guiding them from concept through installation. This role involves designing and developing custom electromechanical equipment, control panels, robotics, and vision systems, while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of electrical engineering principles and a passion for solving complex problems.
Work will be performed in the office, shop, and occasionally at customer sites, with a flexible schedule to accommodate travel and overtime as needed. Overnight travel is typically infrequent, and this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact across diverse, innovative projects.
What You'll Do:- Oversee and advises as to Electrical schematics and panel layouts, component specification, assembly, and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products as assigned
- Evaluate and review bids and proposals to minimize risk and ensure profitability
- Recognize and pursue additional business opportunities with new and existing customers
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices
- Evaluate internal processes and procedures while seeking continuous improvement
- Assign, oversee, review, and provide feedback to other Engineers on work assignments
- Verify that end products meet the project scope, budget, and needs of customers
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a high quality of product
- Gather information and pricing for proposal process to include site visits as needed
Working Conditions
- Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
- Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Perform work on site in industrial, commercial, and residential locations
- 10+ years’ of electrical or other relevant work experience required
- 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering required
- Passing PE (Professional Engineering Exam) or ability to obtain preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
- Must be willing to attend training and remain updated regarding industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, define, and edit scope of work
- Ability to review the accuracy of mathematical calculations in things like models, drawing, components, etc.
- Demonstrated ability in training personnel and providing relevant learning opportunities
