Job Summary:
The Batcher is responsible for preparing product batches according to established standards and specifications. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, and adherence to safety and quality protocols. The Batcher will collaborate closely with the production team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Batch Preparation:
- Prepare batches according to specific product formulas and specifications.
- Calculate and weigh raw materials accurately based on batch requirements.
- Monitor the batching process to ensure adherence to standards.
- Quality Control:
- Review mixing sheets to verify product specifications and processing information.
- Inspect batches to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all batch activities.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory safety standards and practices.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete daily batching schedule controls and ensure all paperwork is accurate.
- Verify lot numbers for accuracy and address any discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain logs of all work performed and report findings to the Batching & Inventory Supervisor.
- Collaboration and Training:
- Work closely with other production associates and supervisors to coordinate batch preparation activities.
- Assist in training new batchers on procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively to address any operational concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing environment; experience in food production preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurement and calculations.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in food safety or manufacturing processes is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Capability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to perform tasks involving reaching, bending, and climbing as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Work in a production facility with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and potential contact with cleaning chemicals.
- Safety: Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are required.
