We are looking for an Assistant Technician to support teaching across a number of gym spaces and specialist sport science and human performance laboratories. 

The post holder will be based in St Leonard’s Land on Holyrood Campus.

 

The Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity to join our Technical Services team. The post holder will play a key role in providing practical and specialist support for teaching in the gym areas, working in collaboration with teaching staff to prepare practical activities and support learning. The post holder will also have the opportunity to provide technical support to a range of specialist activities across the school, establishing and maintaining working relationships with a range of internal contacts. 

 

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) plus experience in a relevant role such as a gym or sports environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Understanding of relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Active interest in sport/physical education.
