The Doctors Company has an opportunity for an Account Associate on our Business Development team. This role will be based in our Sherman Oaks, CA or East Lansing, MI office. Remote opportunity available depending on the final candidates distance from a company office.
As an Account Associate, under general supervision, position is responsible for providing service to members through Member Direct Services. Also responsible for providing support and assistance to the department. Contacts are prospects, current members and employees at all levels.
Responsibilities:
Account Servicing
- Responds to incoming member needs by gathering appropriate information, setting expectations, and managing the process to completion.
- Works with appropriate stakeholders (internal and external) to complete member service requirements.
- Keeps member informed about the progress of request as appropriate.
- Informs appropriate stakeholders about change so that all aspects of account that are impacted can respond accordingly.
- Informs member as to outcome of request as appropriate.
- Manages incoming mail and faxes.
New Business Production
- Markets risk internally and to third parties for Account Manager as necessary.
Policy Renewal
- Reviews upcoming renewals to determine how to proceed and if exceptions to the standardized renewal process need to be made for individual policies.
- Works with appropriate stakeholders to process renewals according to company guidelines.
- Assures that no assigned policies have lapsed by confirming status as renewed, cancelled or non-renewed.
- Assures that appropriate contact has been made with accounts and other stakeholders about their renewals.
Education & Development
- Strives to improve healthcare industry knowledge and product knowledge.
- Works to improve knowledge of and presentation skills for The Doctors Company’s services.
- Works to improve sales and customer relationship skills.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Other duties as needed in pursuit of TDC's Mission and strategy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced insurance education is a plus.
- Fire & Casualty license and Life license a plus.
- Excellent telephone, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with diverse personalities and individuals at all levels.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Ability to use a personal computer to create letters, memos, reports and moderately complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and set variables.
Salary Range: $45,083 - $59,172
Compensation varies based on skills, knowledge, and education. We consider factors such as specialized skills, depth of knowledge in the field, and educational background to ensure fair and competitive pay.
