The FNP Clinical Mentor provides expert guidance, supervision, and support to nurse practitioner trainees and early-career clinicians. This part-time role is designed to enhance clinical competencies, foster professional development, and ensure high standards of patient care within the organization’s outpatient and community-based programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Mentorship & Supervision
- Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to FNP trainees and new hires.
- Observe clinical practice and offer feedback on assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation.
- Support mentees in developing clinical reasoning, patient communication, and evidence-based practice.
- Training & Education
- Facilitate case reviews, clinical debriefs, and skill-building sessions.
- Assist in onboarding and orientation of new FNPs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to identify training needs and develop educational materials.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure mentees adhere to clinical protocols, licensing standards, and documentation requirements.
- Participate in peer reviews and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Promote team-based care by fostering collaboration between FNPs, physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and administrative staff.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and leadership to address challenges and support professional growth.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted FNP license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior experience in mentoring, teaching, or clinical supervision preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to health equity, trauma-informed care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
About the position:
- Flexible scheduling within a 10-hour weekly commitment.
- May include in-person and virtual mentorship sessions.
- Participation in occasional team meetings or training events.
Compensation:
$75.00-$100.00 per hour
