The Scripps Health team is dedicated to making a positive, measurable difference in the health of individuals in the communities we serve. Our DOU has high acuity cases and the ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of Adult RN experience in addition to clinical leadership experience. The Supervisor role includes a combination of Charge Nurse and Administrative duties while working a combination of 12 and 8 hour shifts.

- Ensures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
- Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.
- Ensures appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge.
- Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
This is a Full-Time Salaried Night Shift position at Scripps Mercy San Diego campus in the community of Hillcrest.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Two (2) years Adult DOU/PCU/Stepdown RN experience
- One (1) year of Clinical Leadership experience
- Current CA State RN license
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- PCCN Certification
