Job Description:Position Summary:The new hire will be a key member of the AllianceBerstein (AB) Reporting team, responsible for the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of various financial reports and journal entries. This role requires advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards and a meticulous approach to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with all accounting and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilitiesJournal Entries: Perform a variety of complex journal entriesReconciliations: Execute and review reconciliations for various accounts, ensuring all balances are substantiated.Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency and data accuracy.Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing requested information and workpapers in a timely manner.Technical skillsIn-depth Accounting Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Advanced Excel: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas. Experience with large datasets is essential.Financial Reporting Software: Expertise with ERP systems and financial reporting software like SAP, Analysis for office toolsProfessional skillsAnalytical and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to research complex accounting issues and provide clear, logical recommendations.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy to ensure the integrity of all financial reports and reconciliations.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with various internal departments.Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and consistently meet strict reporting deadlines.Interpersonal Skills: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.Independent thinking - Independent thought leadership analytics and resolutions; as well as working and thinking
Qualifications:Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience.
