Summary of Position

Performs in a fast-paced environment at an automotive seat assembly plant.   Responsible for logistical activities within plant and customer to include delivering, unloading, and staging products based on requirements.

EHS:

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Follow EHS policy
  • Follow company SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Transport seats to Consolidation Center in Alabama multiple times per day
  • Follow all applicable state required driver, traffic, public safety requirements and laws
  • Assist in the shipping and receiving of the logistical functions of the company  
  • Assist in the coordination of the flow of work and materials  
  • Aid in shipment schedules
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion times/dates
  • Assist in the compilation of reports on progress of work, and inventory levels
  • Examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming and/or outgoing shipment
  • Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials
  • Monitor production flow
  • Material handling functions as required
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment
  • Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process
  • Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly
  • Track parts and scrap using electronic system
  • Follow processes and procedures associated with the Logistics/Shipping & Receiving area
  • Write production reports if needed
  • Performs any variety of operations within the group to maintain flow of work
  • Perform monthly inventory counts
  • Assists in managing the consumption/assessment of differences in actual stock quantities vs. inventory system
  • Aid in maintaining customer and internal packaging instructions
  • Follow requirements of Quality policy, ISO/TS16949
  • Other duties as assigned

        Position Requirements and Qualifications:

        • 1+ year of experience in material management/shipping & receiving is preferred
        • Experience in material/product movement of automotive components utilizing various lifts and devices
        • Proven experience warehouse management systems
        • CDL license preferred
        • Minimum 1-year OTR driving experience preferred

        • Good problem-solving skills required
        • Proficient skills in math, reading and writing
        • Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required
        • Good computer, PDA skills
        • Must have good driver record (MVR) and successfully meet company and insurance policy requirements
