Description
Job Overview:
The Welder is responsible for welding and fabrication tasks, as well as general facility maintenance and repair work. This position supports both the operational needs of the water treatment plant and the upkeep of its facilities by performing a variety of mechanical, welding, and maintenance duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform various types of welding necessary for operations.
- Inspect and test welds for accuracy, quality, and safety compliance.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in proper working condition.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks related to the upkeep of facilities.
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in basic welding techniques and use of fabrication tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety standards in welding, cleaning, and facility maintenance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of welding experience.
- Additional education or experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical maintenance may be required.
