Fortinet is looking for a senior documentation specialist with strong QA experience and writing skills to join our Ottawa office.
You must possess the ability to document features by reading specifications, talking to subject matter experts, and using the software. You will also be required to test the functionality and usability of the product, and report bugs and issues to the development team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA, and Support to understand new features, use cases, and customer scenarios
- Write and publish user guides, reference materials, and use-case scenarios for new product releases
- Write conceptual and procedural contents
- Create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases
- Identify and track software defects found during testing and writing
- Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed
Job Requirements:
- At least 5-year experience working in computer networking environments
- Strong experience in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems
- Ability to convert complex technical information into clean, concise, and coherent end-user documentation in plain English
- Strong command of standard American English grammar and usage
- Experience using some or all of the following software: MadCap Flare, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
- BA or BS degree, preferably in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, MIS, Technical Writing, or a related field
