The Hernando Animal Clinic and Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist (Client Service Representative) to join our growing team!

At Hernando Animal Clinic and Surgery Center, we provide comprehensive veterinary care including preventive medicine, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics. Our mission is to deliver exceptional, compassionate service while building lasting relationships with our clients and their pets.
Compensation & Schedule
💵 $12–$14 per hour, based on experience
🕓 Full-time position within regular clinic hours
📅 Rotating Saturday shifts required; Sundays off

Hours of Operation:
- Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you are the welcoming face and voice of our hospital. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring every client and pet feels valued, cared for, and supported from the moment they walk through our doors or call our office.
This is a client-facing position that requires strong communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail. You’ll be responsible for managing the flow of the hospital, assisting clients with scheduling and payments, and supporting the team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
- Warmly greet clients and pets upon arrival, providing friendly, professional, and compassionate service.
- Maintain strong eye contact, a welcoming demeanor, and a positive attitude at all times.
- Listen compassionately and communicate clearly—both in person and on the phone—to understand client needs.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages to the appropriate team members.
- Schedule appointments, confirm visits, and assist with client check-ins and check-outs.
- Assess client and patient needs upon arrival and ensure timely assistance from the medical team.
- Present and explain fees, estimates, and payment options in a clear and professional manner.
- Process payments, invoices, and medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby areas at all times.
- Assist with medical record management, filing, and data entry.
- Offer emotional support to clients during sensitive situations, including end-of-life care discussions.
- Ensure excellent client experiences through proactive communication, empathy, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to support seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in customer service, medical office, or veterinary clinic strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, compassionate approach.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with computers and practice management or scheduling software a plus.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Must love animals and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
