Residential Maintenance Technician
Location: Wilmington, DE
Position Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of residential units and common areas in a multi-unit housing facility. This role combines hands-on technical work with property upkeep and customer service, ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks in apartments and common areas
- Turnover unit prep including:
- Drywall repair
- Painting and caulking
- Carpet cleaning and minor repairs
- General groundskeeping:
- Trash removal
- Light landscaping (watering, weeding)
- Inclement weather response (e.g., snow/ice removal)
- Maintain cleanliness of maintenance shop and storage areas
- Occasionally clean apartments and shared spaces
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls as needed
- Use your own set of hand tools on the job
- Follow directives from Maintenance Superintendent and Property Manager
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in general maintenance (e.g., electrical, carpentry, plumbing)
- Skills:
- Hands-on repair and troubleshooting skills across multiple trades
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service when interacting with residents
- Tools: Must supply your own hand tools
