About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily.

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all.

Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here).

Now, we’re on the lookout for a  Senior International Tax Manager to help us bring that vision to even more travellers.

About the role

(Hybrid)

We are seeking an International Senior Tax Manager to join our Global Finance team. This role is a key driver of transformation and a trusted advisor to senior leadership. You will act as a catalyst for change, leading initiatives that enhance insight, efficiency, and strategic value through digital integration, process optimisation, and proactive business partnering.

You will champion innovation and continuous improvement within the tax function—bridging technical expertise with commercial insight to support the Group’s strategic ambitions. Working in close collaboration with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and senior stakeholders, you’ll advise on global structuring, reporting, and policy, providing forward-looking insight that drives better decisions and business outcomes.

This is a role for someone who combines deep technical capability with strategic influence, confident communication, and a hands-on approach to delivery. You’ll bring curiosity, adaptability, and positive energy, thriving in a fast-changing environment and leading by example as both an advisor and a change champion.

What you’ll be doing

  • Champion tax transformation - drive automation, process optimisation, and analytics to enhance accuracy, visibility, and insight across the function.
  • Advising senior leaders on emerging risks and opportunities - a proactive business partner driving strategic outcomes.
  • Oversight of Tax forecasting and reporting, delivering forward-looking insights that shape business planning, influence strategic decisions, and strengthen transparency and control across Finance.
  • Management of audits, and open positions, driving timely, proactive resolution and embedding a “no surprises” culture across Finance.
  • Shape and optimise transfer pricing compliance and policy, working closely with Finance and Legal to align on reporting, intercompany agreements, and scalable processes.
  • Support delivery of OECD Pillar 2 requirements, working with external advisors and Finance colleagues to assess impacts on group structure, reporting, and strategy.
  • Provide deep expertise on deferred tax accounting under IFRS, collaborating with Finance colleagues to ensure consistent, accurate data and assumptions.
  • Advise on employment tax obligations including global mobility, benefits, PAYE settlement agreements, and equity-based compensation reporting.
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, and People teams to maximise R&D tax incentives and explore opportunities through Patent Box and other innovation-related tax regimes.
  • Support corporate structuring and entity rationalisation projects, ensuring effective and compliant outcomes aligned with business strategy.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, FP&A, and Accounting to support key Finance priorities including budgeting, forecasting, cash tax planning, dividends, repatriation, and ETR/EBITDA management.
  • Mentor, inspire, and empower colleagues across the Finance organisation. Build advisory capability, foster curiosity, and encourage a culture of proactive engagement and continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, representing Skyscanner with professionalism and credibility.

About you

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification international tax experience.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with passion for learning.
  • Proven expertise in international and group tax budgeting and forecasting, reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Broad technical knowledge and awareness of key areas important to an in-house international tax team – transfer pricing, Pillar 2 regulations, deferred tax accounting, VAT / GST, DST, employment taxes, equity plans, and R&D tax incentives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end, with a structured yet agile approach.
  • Proactive, action-orientated style, with the ability to anticipate issues and drive solutions in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working across Finance and wider business teams.
  • Passion for mentoring, inspiring, and developing colleagues, supporting a high-performing and engaged tax team.
  • Strong business acumen with the confidence to influence senior leadership and shape strategy.
  • Experience of working in the digital economy, technology or in a consumer-facing brand is advantageous, but not essential.
