Job Summary
The duration for this role is 1 year.
The UCSF School of Medicine is seeking motivated and creative student writers to contribute engaging stories for publication across School of Medicine and Medical Education websites, newsletters, and social media channels. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in medical and science communications while highlighting the people, programs, and innovations shaping the UCSF community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and edit feature stories, event coverage, and profiles for School of Medicine platforms.
- Develop and pitch original story ideas reflecting diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Cover recurring events such as White Coat, Match Day, Graduation, Inquiry Symposium, and the UCSF Clinical Microsystems Clerkship Health Systems Improvement Symposium.
- Collaborate with communications staff to ensure stories meet editorial standards and align with institutional messaging.
- Contribute to the School of Medicine’s newsletters, including Why We Work and the Bridges curriculum newsletter.
