Job Summary:
This position is designed for new and/or upcoming graduates in the field of Human Resources to gain exposure to various disciplines within the field.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position will support various out of scope areas within HR related to recruitment, organizational development, enterprise-wide training, classification, and labour relations. In addition, the position will also support the Director with reporting and analysis related to various projects and corporate position control.
Duties & Responsibilities:
With guidance from the Staffing and Diversity Consultant, will perform various recruitment functions including but not limited: postings and external advertisements; candidate screening and testing; preparation of interview guides; arranging interviews; and drafting offers of employment. This position may also lead the interview processes for less complex recruitment competitions.
Coordinates and participates in career fairs and diversity events as a representative of WCB. Coordination includes booking of events, preparation/shipping of materials and coordinating attendance.
With guidance from the Manager, HR Services, will support the job evaluation process and HR Rating Committee including the initial intake process, documentations of discussions by the rating committee, drafting correspondence, and file administration.
With guidance from the Manager, Enterprise Learning and Development coordinate training events and support the development, revision, storage and maintenance of learning materials.
With guidance from the Manager, Organizational Development provide support to the team with daily management system (DMS) reporting and team facilitated activities.
Generates and validates reports with HR and senior leaders across WCB to maintain monthly position control for the organization.
Conduct research and supports the HR leadership team in the development of proposals/strategies related to various HR-led initiatives such as corporate orientation, onboarding, telework, diversity, etc.
Compiles and analyzes data from a variety of sources and generates reports for distribution to Management and Executive; designs and maintains databases to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
Responds to inquiries from staff on human resource policies and procedures. Refers to appropriate individual for handling, when required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
This internship is intended to support a new or upcoming graduate from a university degree program with a focus in Human Resources Management to gain practical experience in the field.
