Job Information

We are searching for a full-time Maintenance Associate  who will be responsible to maintain the buildings and grounds in good repair and kept free of hazards, such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating and cooking systems, weather and more. The position will cover the entire campus which includes the Mary Wade Home, Chatham Place and Chatham Village.

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Ability to be flexible with the schedule to accommodate the needs of the departments and campus.

Hourly Rate: $ 20.00 to $22.00

Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity.

Job Responsibilities included below but not limited to:

• Performs maintenance on all building systems as needed, occasionally after hours or on weekends.
• Monitor water and air temperature throughout the facility.
• Maintains all windows and screens in resident living areas.
• Assists in refurbishing resident rooms and common areas by applying wall paper, sanding, painting and performing miscellaneous repairs.
• Moves furniture and office equipment as needed.
• Assist with Pest Control program.
• Assists in seasonal cleaning projects and sets up for special events.
• Adheres to federal and state local codes and laws, as applicable.
• Participates in maintenance department on-call responsibilities. Carry work phone at all times while on call and check regularly for missed calls, and respond quickly. While on call, operational needs of the facility are your responsibility and all calls must be followed through to completion.
• Assists with building security.
• Due to occasionally rapid changes in the needs of the campus, this job requires flexibility and good time management skills.

Job Qualifications:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• General maintenance skills with basic electrical, plumbing, and general mechanical ability.
• Knowledge of the senior retirement community or healthcare setting  is required
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions
• Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
• Typing skills and computer knowledge.
• Prior MS Office experience, including Word and Excel.
• Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with peers and other departments.
• Engages in positive customer service interaction with residents, families and visitors.
• Takes ownership of an error in delivery of service and works to correct the problem.
• Displays good attendance and is punctual.
• Ability to have positive communication, work ethics and teamwork with employees.
