Troy Bank and Trust is excited to announce a Mortgage Loan Originator position in our Enterprise office.  

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Mortgage Loan Originator I to join our dynamic lending team. This position is responsible for the application, processing, documentation, approval, and closing of residential mortgage loans. The ideal candidate will proactively develop new business, foster strong customer relationships, and contribute to the bank’s overall profitability and growth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Originate in-house and mortgage company residential loans; assist applicants in selecting suitable loan programs
• Monitor and support loan processing and underwriting phases
• Coordinate communication between applicants, bank, and mortgage company
• Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the loan process
• Provide financial guidance to customers when appropriate
• Cultivate new business through outreach to prospects and existing clients
• Represent Troy Bank and Trust in community events to enhance visibility and business opportunities
• Refer customers to other bank departments to deepen banking relationships
• Maintain strong relationships with realtors through regular contact
• Maintain confidentiality of all customers, employees, and company information

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in mortgage loan processing or origination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Proficiency in basic computer applications
• Adaptability and enthusiasm for changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Travel Requirements:

• Must be able to travel between all locations required for maintaining customer relationships, attending business meetings, community/networking functions, training sessions and attending to other department matters.

Other:

• Must work in person/office
• Ability to travel to accommodate staffing needs as required to include temporary or permanent assignment.

Work Hours:

• Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Standard hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
• Additional hours may be required based on loan volume and closing deadlines
