Job Purpose

The SAFe Product Owner will serve as a key member of an Agile Team of Teams, guiding the delivery of digital products that support operational excellence. This role acts as the customer’s voice, translating business needs into clear, prioritized product requirements. The Product Owner collaborates closely with Product Management, Architecture, UX Design, and business stakeholders to define the product vision and ensure successful delivery of innovative solutions in areas including equipment and yard management, train status insights, and other data-driven operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and refine the product backlog to align with business priorities and maximize value delivery.
• Work with Product Management to translate strategic needs into features, detailed user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize backlog items based on customer value, data insights, and technical feasibility.
• Advocate and uphold Scaled Agile (SAFe) and Agile methodologies across the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product Owners and business leaders, to maintain alignment on product objectives and coordinated feature deployment.
• Partner with technical and design teams to validate solution direction and ensure customer-centered outcomes.
• Define and track product success metrics to measure value and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance product delivery and operational outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• SAFe 6.0 PO/PM certification OR at least 3+ years serving as a Product Owner/Manager in a large-scale SAFe environment.
• Typically 5+ years of overall Agile Product Owner experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Experience with logistics, data-focused, operational, or event-driven digital products strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Agile delivery tools (e.g., Jira Software, Confluence) and familiarity with FigJam, Jira Align, or AgilityHealth.
• Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, facilitation, prioritization, and analytical problem-solving skills.
