We are seeking a visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead our commercial aviation flight simulation software team. Hiring details:

  • This requisition is for a locally hired position in Crawley. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Crawley, UK location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and professionally develop software engineers

  • Develop and execute project and process plans while following and improving existing policies and procedures

  • Provide oversight, insight, and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

  • Develop and maintains relationships and partnerships with direct reports, peers, business partners, and other stakeholders

  • Drive the future of Boeing’s training simulation technology and tools

  • Travel internationally as required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 7+ years of experience writing professional software with 3+ years in C, C++, C#, or Java specifically

  • 5+ years of experience developing aircraft simulation software for flight simulator training devices

  • Demonstrable experience leading teams using one or more agile processes

  • Demonstrable experience working with external product management organizations

  • Ability to travel internationally (to Canada and the US) as required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams in the software development discipline

  • Experience with DO-178C safety critical software systems

  • Licensed pilot (FAA PPL/EASA PPL-A ASEL or higher), license does not have to be current and no medical is required for this role

  • Experience with integrated avionics systems
