Position Overview

The Product Marketing Manager at Plane will own how our products are positioned, communicated, and launched.
You’ll connect the dots between what we build and why it matters — shaping Plane’s story across products, industries, and editions.

This role is highly cross-functional, working closely with product, design, growth, and community teams to drive adoption, improve retention, and support Plane’s growth in both commercial and open-source ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Positioning and Messaging
Develop clear, compelling positioning for Plane’s product suite — Projects, Wiki, Intake, and AI — that resonates across industries and use cases.

  • Launch and GTM
Lead product launches and feature rollouts from concept to campaign. Define the narrative, assets, and channels for maximum impact.

  • Research and Insights
Conduct market analysis, customer interviews, and competitor research to refine ICPs and inform product and GTM strategies.

  • Sales and Growth Enablement
Create high-quality sales collateral, demos, and talk tracks that help customers and partners understand Plane’s value.

  • Content and Storytelling
Write and review website copy, landing pages, and solution pages that communicate Plane’s features, use cases, and advantages with clarity and context.

  • Lifecycle and Community Marketing
Support adoption and engagement through lifecycle campaigns, educational content, and community-driven initiatives.

  • Message Consistency
Ensure Plane speaks with one consistent voice across every touchpoint — from web to social to partner channels.

  • Launch Measurement
Track post-launch adoption, performance, and feedback to refine future positioning and campaign strategy.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in product marketing for a B2B SaaS company (experience with open-source or self-hosted products is a plus).

  • Strong understanding of developer and technical audiences, enterprise buyers, and multi-edition SaaS products.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills — you can turn complex ideas into clear, relatable messages.

  • Experience leading or contributing to multiple successful product launches.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, async environment.

  • A data-informed mindset with the ability to translate adoption metrics and customer insights into actionable strategies.

  • Bonus: familiarity with self-hosted deployments, partner-driven GTM, or open-source communities.
