Job Title:
Senior Lead Dimensional Management Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
• Define measurement systems, locator strategies, and tolerance specifications for Body in White (BiW) components and exterior trims in line with styling and manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure robustness of the measurement system from part fabrication through complete BiW assembly.
• Analyze functional requirements of BiW and create measurement strategies for module fitment.
• Discuss and align tolerance concepts with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Perform tolerance stack-up studies (1D, 2D, or 3D) during the development phase to identify production risks and propose mitigation through measurement, alignment, or tolerance concepts.
• Execute 3D tolerance simulations using 3DCS to digitally validate assembly processes and concept robustness, applying appropriate probability distributions for manufacturing conditions.
• Develop Gap & Flush plans and concepts to ensure high perceived visual quality of the vehicle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFT) to integrate feedback and finalize dimensional concepts.
• Create and align sub-module and closure integration concepts in accordance with gap & flush and production requirements.
• Ensure quality, timeliness, and completeness of project deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience:
• 11–14 years of experience in the automobile industry, with specialization in Body in White, Exterior, or Interior domains.
• Proficiency in 3D tolerance simulation tools – 3DCS preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and SPC (Senior GDTP Certification preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of Body in White manufacturing processes and automotive assembly operations.
• Understanding of perceived quality requirements and measurement systems.
• Proficiency in NX CAD for tolerance and design evaluation.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work with agility across different vehicle architectures in a fast-paced environment.


Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
• Experience working on global automotive programs, preferably in premium vehicle development.
• Exposure to digital validation environments and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz processes, dimensional management standards, and global collaboration practices.
