We are seeking a skilled Tax Accountant experienced in Australian taxation and compliance to manage end-to-end tax preparation, bookkeeping, and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients. The role involves preparing tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting business advisory work in line with Australian tax regulations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge annual tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts.
- Draft client query emails and develop detailed workpapers referencing tax returns, trial balances, and supporting documents.
- Review client accounting records in Xero, MYOB, and Excel to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare special purpose financial statements for companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Handle bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations, journal postings, and sales invoice creation.
- Process weekly payroll using Xero.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Assist in family trust distribution calculations and related tax estimate preparations.
- Support business advisory work, including GST, CGT, FBT, and Division 7A compliance matters.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and Excel.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client files efficiently.
