Bellbrae Animal Hospital is currently welcoming a full-time dependable and caring Receptionist to join our clinic. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and caring individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital:

Key Responsibilities

• Answer and manage a multi-line phone system efficiently while providing excellent customer service

• Schedule and track veterinary appointments accurately using practice management software

• Place outbound calls to pet parents for follow-ups, reminders, and future bookings to ensure ongoing patient care

• Manage client and internal communications through email and office messaging systems in a professional, timely manner

• Support the medical team as a Technician Assistant (approximately 30% of the role), assisting with animal handling, patient preparation, and maintaining a clean, organized treatment area

• Admitting and discharging pet patients

• Invoicing and billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation and processing payments

• Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environment

• General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas and common areas

• Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments

• Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality is an asset! 

Qualifications & Attributes

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a busy reception or front desk environment; veterinary industry experience preferred or completion of a veterinary office program

• An understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures considered an asset

• Demonstrated excellence in customer service with the ability to put both pets and pet parents at ease, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

• Compassionate and nurturing attitude, with genuine care for clients and their animals.

• Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional during emotionally sensitive or end-of-life situations.

• Self-motivated and able to take initiative to maintain an organized, presentable, and efficient front desk area.

• Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
