Reports to: Production Operations Manager

Rate: $22/hr

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm 


POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Flow Lead ensures the timely, accurate, and efficient movement of blank and decorated t-shirts and sweatshirts between Production zones with a team of Material Flow Associates. You’ll ensure materials are correctly counted, staged, organized, documented, and moved on schedule.


This role works closely with the Ops Manager and Production Coordinator to keep Production running smoothly. You’ll lead a team to pick, count, and move materials ahead of schedule; verify outbound projects are counted, staged, audited, and shipped correctly; and confirm inbound projects are received, recorded, and staged for finishing.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, bilingual in Spanish, and skilled at coordinating across teams and vendors to maintain efficient material flow.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all material movement operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time flow between departments and production zones.
  • Maintain high inventory integrity through consistent documentation, validation, and reconciliation across all inbound, outbound, and internal transfers.
  • Lead and develop the Material Flow team, fostering accountability, precision, and strong coordination within and between departments.
  • Ensure system accuracy and reliability by managing ERP and inventory data, working with management to refine tools and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse leadership to align material flow with operational priorities and schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying workflow inefficiencies, proposing enhancements, and updating SOPs to reflect best practices.
  • Uphold safety, compliance, and workplace standards, ensuring all material handling and storage operations meet company and OSHA requirements.
  • Model professionalism and operational discipline, setting the standard for reliability, organization, and proactive communication within the team.

DUTIES

  • Validate and document all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring counts, documentation, and labeling are correct before release or receipt.
  • Conduct, oversee, and record regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies to maintain accurate real-time inventory levels.
  • Pick, stage, and transfer materials between Raw, Raw+, inbound, finishing, outbound, and production zones in coordination with schedules and production needs.
  • Use ERP and inventory systems daily to log transactions, update statuses, and maintain transparent tracking of material movement.
  • Communicate with team members and leadership regarding shortages, discrepancies, or process issues as they arise.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials, including driving for local deliveries and pickups when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following all material handling and equipment operation protocols.
  • Support facility and equipment maintenance, performing light repairs or assisting maintenance teams as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and work with others to achieve departmental goals
  • Able to communicate and coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Forklift and material-handling equipment certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be able to work hours and days as need based on changing schedule demands, including overtime. Schedules and shifts may change throughout the year. Schedule requirements may include working days, afternoons, nights, 1st shift, 2nd shift, or weekends as needed.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED(General Education Degree)
