Empower Rental Group is hiring an Accounting Manager in Franklin, TN!
Empower Rental Group is a family of local equipment rental providers across the Southeastern US. We began with 3 locations in 2021 with the goal of being the difference in the equipment rental industry by doing everything differently. We now have over 36 locations, and we are adding an Accounting Manager to our team at the Support Center in the Franklin, TN location!
**This role will be on-site initially, then locally hybrid in Franklin, TN. Candidates must be local to Nashville or within a reasonable commute radius.**

Summary
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in ensuring accounting processes are accurate and efficient, and provide leadership for the accounting team. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the VP Controller on critical accounting estimates, analysis, and managing the month-end close process. This role will include developing accounting staff, reviewing journal entries, and overseeing balance sheet reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review critical accounting estimates, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Perform analytical review of financial results and documents.
- Lead and complete your part in the monthly close process within 5 business days.
- Drive improvements in the close cycle and lead initiatives to automate and optimize accounting processes.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company’s general ledger software and operations software.
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scale and audit readiness.
- Partner with the VP Controller to coordinate external audits, ensuring documentation is complete and timelines are met.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to accounting staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of financial information, reports and analyses to operational management and senior leadership.
- Partner with operational management and department leaders to ensure integrity of accounting controls, processes and procedures
- Promote continuous improvement through streamlining processes and researching/identifying new technologies to reduce processing time
- Participate in special projects and initiatives and provide ad hoc support and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in accounting or finance required; Master's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Rentalman preferred.
- Hands-on experience with US GAAP and monthly close procedures.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, research skills and problem-solving capability.
- Inquisitive, proactive, self-starter who is results oriented.
- Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Commitment to ensuring financial integrity, and ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
