Skilled / General Laborer

 

Summary/Objective
Provide a concise summary of the job's purpose and an overview of the main responsibilities. This section should capture the essence of the role and its significance to the organization.

Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, digging, and moving materials. Operates a variety of tools to complete assignments according to internal and external policies and regulations. Assembles and disassembles machines, tools, and other work-related equipment. Assists engineers and a variety of other functions with manual labor tasks as needed. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris and hazardous materials.
  • Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers) as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform basic maintenance or repair tasks.
  • Report issues or hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Support logistics such as setting up and breaking down work areas.

Work Environment

Perform occasional heavy lifting (up to 50lbs). Work is performed primarily in an outside environment or in industrial building areas. There is exposure to high equipment noise, chemical fumes, and potential electric and machinery hazards. Field conditions outdoors are varying weather conditions, with varying low to high equipment noise; walking on changing ground surfaces; and there is some driving in various weather conditions.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and must possess a valid driver’s license.
