EXAMPLES OF PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists and supports the Principal in the total supervision l and administration of the school.
• May serves as the building leader in the Principal’s absence.
• Supports the development of school programming including master schedule of classes and extracurricular activities.
• Supervises the preparation of student schedules.
• Works with Department Heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
• Manages requisitions supplies, textbooks, and equipment, conducts inventories; maintains records; and checks on
receipts for such material.
• Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
• Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
• Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student discipline and attendance; works with appropriate staff to
address disciple and chronic attendance issues.
• Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and
objectives.
• Administers the student insurance program.
• Performs such record-keeping functions as the Principal may direct.
• Supervises teachers, support staff, and departments as assigned by the Principal.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time assign.
• Provides for adequate inventories of school property and for the security and accountability for that property.
• Supervises and evaluates the school activities including extracurricular program.
• Participates in assigned Principals’ meetings (i.e., negotiations, advisories, leadership meetings), and such other
meetings as appropriate.
• Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees and councils within the school.
• Cooperates with college and university officials regarding teacher training and preparation.
• Responds to written and oral requests for information.
• Under the direction of the Principal assumes responsibility for all official school correspondence and news releases collaborating with EHPS Communication’s Office as appropriate.
• Acts as liaison between the school and the community, interpreting activities and policies of the school and
encouraging community participation in school life.
• Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the Principal.
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the East Hartford Public Schools and the East Hartford Educational Administrative and Supervisory Unit.
