Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking to bring a new team member to the Engineering Department!
We are seeking a Kitchen Mechanic who will perform preventive maintenance, repairs and installation of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems equipment. Repairs, installs and services stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliance throughout the facility by performing the duties outlined below.
Responsibilities:- Performs preventive maintenance on refrigerators, ice machines and freezers.
- Repairs, installs and services stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliance as needed. May assist in making recommendations on alternative solutions for repair or purchase.
- Lays out reference points for installation of structural and functional components, using measuring instruments, such as tape, transits, plumb bobs, levels and squares.
- Examines appliance during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts.
- Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers and defective wiring.
- Maintains, repairs and troubleshoots package units, reciprocating compressors, pneumatic controls, refrigerators and ice machines.
- Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components, using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining kitchen hoods and exhaust systems.
- Performs general maintenance duties as needed.
- Ensures proper and economical use of equipment, supplies and facility.
- Ensures that assigned work area is maintained in a safe condition.
- Assists in orientation and training of new staff members or temporary workers.
- Performs general maintenance duties as required.
- Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
- Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Available for full time work which may include weekends and evening scheduling; and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
- Able to communicate clearly with team members.
- Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.

- Able to work within a team environment.
Education:
Associate’s degree (A.S) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in A/C and refrigeration and HVAC and/or EPA license required.
Experience:
Two to five (2-5) years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical repair role (specific to commercial kitchens is ideal). Experience working with tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move and/or carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 pounds.
- Able to regularly stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Regularly required to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms and/or legs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in smoking environment areas.
- Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
