Description

The Loan Servicing-Indirect Funding Specialist is primarily responsible for the daily booking, funding, and dealer interactions of indirect loans. In a secondary capacity this role includes the day-to-day tasks associated with departmental operations and support of the Consumer Lending Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and program indirect loan packages.
  • Perform a detailed quality review of indirect loan documents.
  • Interact with and build relationships with indirect dealers and vendor partners.
  • Assist in dealer management.
  • Perform indirect loan funding transactions and accounting.
  • Initialize ACH transactions to dealers.
  • Interact with accounting department.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional “customer service” to our members and internal customers.
  • Assist members with routine account-related questions and concerns.
  • Perform various duties related to vehicles titles:
    • Process paperwork to produce vehicle titles on new loans.
    • Manage Vin-TEK system to track titles.
    • Process the release of vehicle titles to members at payoff.
    • Send letters of guarantee to insurance companies.
    • Complete UCC-1
    • Complete lien release affidavit
  •  Performs tasks related to CPI (force-placed insurance) including insurance add-ons, refunds, recalculating payments, working reports, and notifying members.
  • Track and maintain credit reports used in cross-selling.
  • Process Skip-A-Pay requests.
  • Prepare paperwork/files on delinquent loans and forward to the Collections department.
  • Identify paid loans for the month and process a Minnesota Life Insurance report for accounting to process and issue rebates, process payments of insurance and debt cancelation, process claims.
  • Quote payoff amounts to members, dealers on trade-ins, and insurance companies on losses.
  • Process loan payoffs and pull files to release titles.
  • Perform duties relative to the department such as:
  • Scanning documents
  • Sort and process incoming mail
  • Filing
  • Train and educate new staff upon request.
  • Follow all credit union policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and oral instruction. 
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from members of management, automobile dealers and credit union members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education/Training Experience:

High school diploma or GED with one year of credit union/banking, loan origination and loan underwriting experience. Associate degree or higher preferred.  Prior service and sales experience is valued.
