Job Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain an effective dispatch system
- Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician's skill level.
- Executes the service SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) at all times.
- Ensures Repair Orders are properly dispatched in AutoPoint
- Ensures that all repairs are assigned to technicians equally and fairly.
- Provides technical support for technicians when necessary.
- Checks progress of each repair order throughout the day.
- Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Ensures the proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools.
- Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
- Assists technicians in developing their skills.
- Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
- Monitors shop conditions, including cleanliness, safety, and the state of shop equipment. Reports problems to the service manager or dealer
- Review job status frequently, logs status, and report any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor or customer.
- Ensures that technicians follow warranty materials disposition procedures.
- Prepares a list of needed service department equipment, supplies, and required repairs and reviews with the service manager as needed.
- Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right to Know, etc.
- Maintain workflow through the shop
- Maintain cleanliness of the shop
- Maintain shop equipment
- Attends manager's meetings as requested.
- Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Two years of experience in a service dealership position.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Excellent listening, customer service, and phone skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
