SUMMARY:
Evaluates and provides educational support and management guidance for assigned level program of the District. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the assigned schools and departments, including staffing, scheduling, and building utilization. Provides educational support and assistance to administrators and teachers in the areas of District policy, standard procedures, and student discipline procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Educational Support and Management
- Analyze the critical needs in assigned areas; conduct team efforts to design, implement, measure and refine assigned programs; and lead quality improvement efforts.
- Guide collaborative efforts to support effective delivery of services to the District, assigned areas, and other customers.
- Coordinate departmental activities with other District offices and administrators; provide assistance to departments requesting and utilizing services provided; and represent the department as may be required in meetings and other outside activities.
- Define program needs to be addressed through facility and budget planning; develop annual operating budget recommendations for assigned units and functions that are aligned with district goals and documented program needs; demonstrate responsible fiscal control over assigned program budgets.
- Assist campus principals with developing campus improvement plans that are aligned with the needs of the campus and with District goals.
- Ensure the integration of the District's curriculum and instructional objectives at the campus level.
- Assist campuses in resolving parent/student issues and concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensure the discipline management system and Student Code of Conduct are administered consistently at schools to promote equity, effectiveness, and student success.
- Ensure all campuses implement activities to recognize students' efforts and accomplishment.
Communication
- Establish a familiar presence on assigned campuses; attend campus activities to foster relationships with staff, students and parents.
- Foster collegiality and team building among assigned campus employees.
- Encourage active involvement in the decision-making process by all employees.
- Communicate expectations for high-level performance for principals.
- Recognize staff achievements.
- Ensure effective and quick resolution of conflicts among campus employees.
Personnel Management
- Evaluate job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
- Select, train, evaluate, and supervise staff and make recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
Budget and Inventory
- Assist with the department budget based on documented needs and ensure that operations are cost effective, and funds are managed prudently.
- Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies for the program.
- Participate in grant-writing activities to obtain program funding.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations on campus issues to the Board. Attend regular meetings of the Board.
- Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
- Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
- Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
- Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree
- Valid Texas Administrator Certificate
Experience:
- Five (5) years of successful Campus Principal experience
- Three (3) years of successful supervisory experience
- Successful Elementary Campus Principal experience (preferred)
- Successful Central Administration experience (preferred)
