Position Summary
The Elevate Operations & Support Specialist is a multifunctional role designed to address the real-time operational, clerical, and student support needs of the Elevate program. This position ensures a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment, allowing teachers, RBTs, and other staff to focus on direct student instruction and support.
Position Criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Training or certification in behavioral support (RBT or CNA), preferred.
- Custodial/maintenance experience, preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, required.
Experience & Skills
- Experience working in school or child-focused environments preferred.
- Ability to handle custodial, clerical, reception, and student support tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work professionally with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to lift, bend, and perform custodial tasks including cleaning spills and minor repairs.
Performance Criteria:
Custodial & Maintenance Support
- Complete assigned building daily expectations, including vacuuming, trash collection and removal, stocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, floor cleaning, restrooms clean up.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in classrooms and common areas before, during, and after student time.
- Respond to spills and bodily fluid incidents promptly and safely.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure a functional learning environment.
- Proactively prevent potential hazards or messes in student areas.
- Prior to and following the snow removal contractor, maintain safe walkways using snow shovel, snow blower, and ice melt, as needed.
Clerical & Instructional Support
- Prepare instructional materials, visuals, and manipulatives as directed by instructional staff.
- Operate copying, laminating, and material preparation equipment.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining classroom supplies.
Reception & Coordination
- Greet and support on-site visitors, including parents, AEA staff, and other district personnel.
- Answer and route phone calls and messages appropriately.
- Coordinate deliveries and pickups as needed, including materials and student items.
Student & Staff Support (“Runner”)
- Assist ELC staff with distributing, collecting, and organizing student materials.
- Provide general paraeducator support when RBTs or other support staff are unavailable.
- Help manage student flow and maintain safe learning environments during incidents requiring immediate attention.
Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate with staff to identify and address operational and instructional needs.
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by custodial and program leadership.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely perform custodial and maintenance tasks.
- Comfortable lifting and moving materials, assisting students, and performing tasks indoors and outdoors as needed.
