Job Description
Salary: $100,000 to $110,000
The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for managing employee-related issues across field operations. This role ensures consistent policy application, manages risk exposure, and promotes a positive and compliant workplace culture in air and ground EMS settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proactively triage employee concerns, ensuring appropriate assignment for investigation and closely track outstanding cases while coaching and guiding team members through the investigation process and reviewing findings for Tier I and II level cases.
- Conduct virtual and/or onsite interviews to gather and analyze all necessary information and documents related to the investigation.
- Engage critical thinking, and decision-making as to relevant findings of any violations or inappropriate activities with respect to state or federal laws, regulations and/or company policies.
- Craft clear and concise investigation reports that not only outline the allegations but also provide comprehensive reviews of relevant policies, statements, and documents, highlighting key investigation findings.
- Demonstrate full utilization of case management system to input and track cases.
Perform data analytical work including creating customized reports for partners and stakeholders that identifies trends and opportunities. - Foster innovation and work collaboratively to ensure best practice investigative techniques and protocols.
- Apply knowledge of policies, practices, laws and regulations to collaborate with internal business partners to help drive the investigation process.
- Communicate clear rationale/justification for investigation processes and outcomes to appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide status updates on complex ongoing investigations, as needed.
- Partner with key stakeholders and HRBP's and/or People Partners on continuous improvement projects as needed
- 50% to 75% travel required throughout the Northeast region.
Qualifications:
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline that showcases your understanding of workforce dynamics and employee engagement.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in employee relations or human resources, including at least 3 years of handling complex internal investigations across geographically dispersed locations.
- In depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws including Title VII, FMLA, and ADAAA.
- Case management system experience.
- Union experience is a plus.
- Experience working with senior managers on complex cases, disciplinary and termination issues.
