Description
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse to support safe, efficient, and high-quality healthcare delivery. This position assists with basic clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, and supporting patient mobility and comfort needs. The PCT contributes to maintaining a clean, organized, and patient-centered environment while maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards, and supporting overall clinic operations to enhance quality, access, and patient satisfaction. Exhibits proficient and professional communication with patients, co-workers, and providers. Demonstrates knowledge of available resources within Lake Region Healthcare and the broader community to support comprehensive patient care.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assists providers with patient examinations.
- Carries out provider orders for patient treatments and procedures promptly and efficiently.
- Documents all encounters and patient interactions accurately and completely within the electronic medical record.
- Schedules and provides appropriate patient instruction for ancillary and follow up services.
- Collaborates with provider and team on improving and managing quality goals.
- Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data.
- Follows established rooming guidelines.
- Report patient conditions accurately to the healthcare team.
- Answers and places patient phone calls and electronic communications in a professional and timely manner.
- Cleans, stocks and organizes patient care rooms.
- Will perform lab duties such as, but not limited to, phlebotomy, collection of samples, and completing waived testing when supporting Regional Clinic Locations and other areas as designated by Operations leaders. Training will be provided by qualified Laboratory staff when necessary.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Hours/Shifts
64 hours biweekly, day shifts in our Psychiatry Clinic department.
Compensation
Hourly Wage Range: $18.53-$23.73. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
- Education/Special Skills:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Understanding of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certification.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Performs delegated clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse in accordance with established protocols, competencies, and organizational policies.
